IParticipant and Qualification :

Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) training is a critical component in maintaining the continued airworthiness and safety of in-service aircraft. This recurrent course is designed to ensure that qualified personnel maintain up-to-date knowledge of inspection standards, wiring practices, and regulatory requirements in accordance with European aviation safety regulations.

Objective :

Refer to AMC 20-22 for qualified staff performing general maintenance or inspections not involving wire maintenance, as well as qualified staff performing engineering or planning work on in-service aeroplanes. This includes:

  • Manager Line / Heavy Maintenance
  • Manager Shop Maintenance
  • Aircraft Engineer
  • Quality Audit Staff
  • Supervisors of Line / Heavy and Shop Maintenance

This EWIS recurrent course for Target Group 4 and 5 is required every 2 years.

This course is mandatory under EASA Decision 2008/007/R and AMC 20-22 for Target Group 4 and 5. Upon completion of the course, the trainee will be able to:

1.Know the different types of inspections, human factors in inspections, zonal areas, and typical damages.

2.Know contamination sources, materials, cleaning, and protection procedures.

3.Know or demonstrate the correct identification of different wire types, their inspection criteria, damage tolerance, repair, and preventive maintenance procedures.
